PORT CHESTER, N.Y. -- A Port Chester resident raising money to honor fallen warriors tops this week's news.
- Lifelong Port Chester resident Richard Cuddy is working to restore the plaques at Lyon Park that memorialize Americans who died in battle. He and the village are raising money by selling memorial bricks that will be placed at the park.
- After losing $1.5 million in state grant money, Port Chester school officials are working out how they will provide after school programs in the coming school year . The programs will likely cost parents a fee, and will be offered in partnership with organizations like the Port Chester Council for the Arts and SER of Westchester.
- Mosquitoes found in Rye Brook tested positive for West Nile Virus . This is the first positive case of West Nile in Westchester this summer.
