PORT CHESTER, N.Y. - A Port Chester taxi driver was charged Thursday with rape in connection with an incident that occurred between 1 a.m. and 5:30 a.m. Memorial Day.
Wilson Manuel Morocho, 30, of 375 Irving Ave. was charged with first-degree forcible rape, a felony, while being arraigned in Village Court on an unrelated charge of second-degree criminal contempt, police Lt. James Ladeairous said.
Morocho, also known as Manuel Ayabaca, was sent to the Westchester County jail without bail. He faces 15 to 25 years in prison if convicted.
Police said that Morocho knew the victim and that the incident occurred inside Morocho's cab on an isolated part of Boston Post Road in Port Chester while he was off-duty.
Morocho is due back in court on June 21.
