PORT CHESTER, N.Y. A 60-year-old Port Chester cab driver was attacked by two men early Sunday morning. Although he was shaken, police said the cab driver reported no major injuries and was not admitted to the hospital.
According to Lt. Jim Ladeairous of the Port Chester Police Department, the attack occurred at approximately 2:10 a.m. in between Glenn Avenue and Puritan Drive by Park Avenue School.
Police said one of the men, seemingly unprovoked, suddenly began choking the cab driver from the backseat. According to Ladeairous, the man released his grip and bolted from the cab when the driver grabbed hold of the dispatch radio.
The police searched both the immediate area and the area of Elm Street where the cab driver picked the attackers up. According to Ladeairous, the two men did not make off with anything from the cab.
The cab driver described the men as Hispanic and between the ages of 16-20. Lt. Ladeairous added that since the victim's description was not succinct enough, the police were unable to identify the attackers.
