  • The Port Chester police station was forced to close  its cell block this week after a sewage backup. This is the latest in a series of issues with the 1930s building, which was recently cited for a number of problems by the New York state Department of Labor.
  • The Capitol Theatre and HeadCount are sending a number of local teachers to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland next week. The teachers will be attending an institute on how they can incorporate popular music into their lessons.
  • A replica of the Vietnam War memorial in Washington D.C. stopped in Westchester this week. The "Moving Wall" memorial bears the names of all 58,272 men and women who died in the war, and has been touring the country for nearly 30 years.
