Police: Port Chester Dept. of Public Works Employee Was Dealing Cocaine

PORT CHESTER, N.Y. – A seasonal Port Chester Department of Public Works employee has been arrested and charged with four counts of third degree felony charges of criminal possession and sale of cocaine last week as part of an ongoing investigation by the village detective division and the county narcotics unit, police said.  He was arraigned Thursday.

Alexander Destefano, 34, of Port Chester  was arrested on May 24 at 10 a.m. at the department of public works headquarters, located on Fox Island Road, after two weeks on the job.

Lt. James Ladeairous of Port Chester Police said police observed Destefano conducting multiple buys on Grant Street back in February and January of this year. Destefano, who was arraigned in village court Thursday morning, has remanded back to the county jail and is scheduled to appear back in court on Aug. 30.
