Phyllis Del Tosto, 69, Port Chester Native

PORT CHESTER, N.Y. – Phyllis Ann Pangallo Del Tosto, a Port Chester native, died Nov. 20 after a two-year battle with cancer. She was 69.

Del Tosto was born Sept. 25, 1943, in Port Chester to Joseph and Assunda Belmonte Pangallo. She graduated from Port Chester High School and was a National Honor Society member and New York State Regents Scholarship recipient.

She later graduated from Westchester Business School and attended Franklin University. Most recently of Upper Arlington, Ohio, Del Tosto worked in human resources at Compuserve and later at WorldCom for 18 years before retiring from Ohio Health.

She was a very active member of St. Andrew Catholic Church, where she served as a Eucharistic minister. An avid runner, Del Tosto enjoyed cooking, baking, gardening and sewing.

She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Joseph; three sons, Joseph (Judy) Del Tosto Jr. of Landenberg, Pa., David (Lea) Del Tosto of Tampa, Fla., and Mark (Amira) Del Tosto of Upper Arlington; three sisters, Marie Pangallo, Gloria (Philip) LaDestro and Joanne (Peter) Sileo; a sister-in-law, Santa Coperine; a brother-in-law, William Del Tosto; six grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Entombment was held at Resurrection Catholic Cemetery in Powell, Ohio. A memorial Mass will be celebrated at noon Saturday at Corpus Christi Church in Port Chester.
