Pchs Cheerleaders Place First in Mahopac

PORT CHESTER, N.Y. - The Port Chester High School Cheerleading team placed first in Mahopac's cheerleading competition last week at Mahopac High School. The win is the first of the year for the squad and marks its first-ever victory in Mahopac.

According to coach Chezdis Sanchez-Bors, the team finished fourth out of twelve in the competition last year. Sanchez-Bors was impressed with her team's performance.

"They scored very well at the competition," the coach said. "To start our season with such a high score was a real indication of how hard the team has been working".

Sanchez-Bors also stated that she looks forward to watching the team to continue to grow. Its upcoming schedule includes Empire regionals on Saturday, New Rochelle on Dec. 10 and a home competition on Dec. 17.
