Metro-North Reports Short Delays; Accidents, Disabled Vehicles Slow Commute

WESTCHESTER COUNTY, N.Y. – Metro-North reported short delays on its lines Harlem and Hudson lines Friday morning, less than 12 hours after the trains came to a grinding halt. Traffic has been slowed in Northern Westchester as a result of several incidents.

Delays were about 10 minutes on the Hudson and Harlem lines, according to the Metro-North website. Service was restored late Thursday night, more than three hours after a computer problem shut down all Metro-North. Trains were running close to schedule on Friday morning except on the Danbury, Conn., line, where commuters had to take a bus to the South Norwalk branch.

An accident on the southbound Taconic State Parkway at Baldwin Road in Yorktown was reported toward the end of the morning commute.

Earlier, an accident on Route 100 North at Goldens Bridge Road around 6:40 a.m. also slowed traffic.

A disabled vehicle had blocked traffic on southbound Route 9A South near Hawkes Road earlier in the morning commute before being cleared.

Another disabled vehicle, on the southbound Taconic State Parkway between FDR State Park and Route 134, reported at 8 a.m., is also causing delays.

A disabled bus blocked one lane on the southbound New York State Thruway between Route 9W and the Tappan Zee Bridge span in an incident reported at 6 a.m.
