While neighbors dealt with whipping winds and flash flood conditions, a Mount Vernon family had a bigger problem Monday morning when a massive tree came coming down on their house, leaving extensive damage.
A Nuber Avenue family received quite the scare at approximately 7:30 a.m. on Monday morning, as wind gusts reached upwards of 40 mph in the area, unearthing the tree, which struck the side and roof of the home.
Despite the damage to the home, which is currently uninhabitable, no injuries were reported. The tree could be seen resting on the side of the house later in the day on Monday.
