Gelfarb Leads Jaffe In District 6 County Legislator Race

Update 2 a.m. PORT CHESTER, N.Y. -- With 69 percent of districts reporting, David Gelfarb leads Mark Jaffe in the race for the District 6 Board of Legislators seat, 60 percent to 40 percent.

PORT CHESTER, N.Y. -- With 23 percent of precincts of reporting, incumbent Republican David Gelfarb leads Democrat Mark Jaffe, 62 percent to 38 percent.

Gelfarb was first elected to the Board of Legislators back in 2011. A resident of Rye Brook, where he lives with his three children, he previously served four years on the Rye Town Board. He is a practicing attorney with the law firm of Moss and Kalish, PLLC, where he focuses on commercial litigation and business planning.

Jaffe is the president and CEO of the Greater New York Chamber of Commerce. Born and raised in Westchester, he currently lives in West Harrison with his wife and three children. He is the previous president and CEO of Catch America, Inc.

Major issues in the race included taxes, exclusionary zoning and promoting business in District 6.
