Caitlyn Frisina, 17, and Rian Rodriguez were both found safe around 4 p.m. Friday when a New York State Police trooper in Syracuse spotted the car the two were believed to have fled in, according to the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office in north Florida.

"He (the state trooper) stopped the car that was occupied by Rian Rodriguez and Caitlyn," the sheriff's office said in a statement. "Rian was taken into custody without incident and Caitlyn is detained. Caitlyn’s family has been notified."

Frisina reportedly left her home on her own and left behind her cell phone, which had been erased.

Frisina's parents said there were "no indicators" of any type of relationship" between the two, according to the public information officer for the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office.

Police said it appears Frisina left her home through a window either late Saturday night or early Sunday morning and found footprints outside of her house. It was also discovered that Caitlyn withdrew $200 from an ATM in Georgia, according to police.

Surveillance video, also from Georgia, confirmed Frisina and Rodriguez are traveling together.

Caitlyn Frisina has family in New York and Rodriguez has family in Canada and Pennsylvania, police said.
