Former Port Chester Resident Dies In Mountain Climbing Accident

PORT CHESTER, N.Y. – A former Port Chester native fell to her death with a climbing partner Saturday morning in Grand Teton National Park in Wyoming, reports lohud .com.

Catherine Nix, 28, formerly of Port Chester, died with 27-year-old Tyler Strandberg, who hailed from Raleigh, N.C.,, after falling approximately 200 feet while climbing Teewinot Mountain, according to the report.

A third member of the climbing party, Rebecca Anderson, 26, was rescued by helicopter, according to the report.
