The last four years have seen the landscape of healthcare in America change drastically with many hospitals joining with larger affiliates to stay afloat.
Just a few miles north of the major teaching hospitals of New York City, Israel and the Medical Center quickly realized they can't stand alone either, and acquired the former St. Francis Hospital in Poughkeepsie (now known as MidHudson Regional Hospital of Westchester Medical Center) on last May.
"We believe for the foreseeable future, the system that we're putting together will not only be able to compete successfully financially, but will be able to deliver both the top quality care and service that we've developed over the decades that the medical center has been here," Israel told Daily Voice.
