Clay Art Center Hosts Summer Camp To Sharpen Art Skills

PORT CHESTER, N.Y. -- Port Chester's Clay Art Center has announced that it will host 28 themed summer camps for children ages 6-15 to help young artists develop their imaginations and gain self-confidence.

Students ages 6-9 can choose from exciting camps themes including “Colossal Coliseum,” “Minecraft in Clay” and “Monsters, Myths and Magic.”

Students age 10 and older will use the potter’s wheel as a tool to create unique functional and sculptural pieces of art during camps like “Reinventing the Wheel” and “Wheel Throwing Boot Camp.”

Parents can allow children to attend for half-day morning or afternoon camps, or full-day camp including a supervised lunch break.

Class size is limited to give students individual instruction and like-aged students are seated together. Camp registration begins Saturday, Feb. 15.

All registrations received Saturday, Feb. 15 to Saturday, March 15 will receive a 10 percent early-bird discount.

Port Chester residents with children in the Port Chester public school system are eligible to receive a 20 percent discount, and full and partial scholarships are also available. Scholarship applications are due the week before camp and can be found on the website.
