PORT CHESTER, N.Y. – Here’s a look at the top stories in Port Chester from the past week:

  • Port Chester School District and community members are doing more to address the issue of bullying in schools. Earlier this year, a new committee was formed and dedicated to stop bullying. The group, the Port ChesterSound Shore Anti-Bullying Consortium, has continued to grow.
  • Port Chester gathered at the 9/11 Memorial in Lyon Park to mark the 12th anniversary of Sept. 11 and pay tribute to those who lost their lives in the attacks.
  • A 55-year-old man in nearby Greenwich was held on $1 million bond after bludgeononing his wife with a baseball bat on Tuesday. Michael F. DeMaio had apparently become enraged when he found out his wife, Diane, was planning to leave him.
