Small practices with the White Plains Hospital Physician Associates Orthopaedic Specialists Group, where he specializes in hip and knee replacement surgery.
Small received his medical degree from New York Medical College. He completed his fellowship in adult and pediatric hip surgery at the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York, following his orthopedic surgery residency at the Hospital for Joint Diseases Orthopaedic Institute.
His accomplished academic record includes service as an instructor in orthopedic surgery at both The Mount Sinai School of Medicine and New York Medical College and as a senior clinical associate in Surgery at Cornell University Medical College.
He is Chief Emeritus of Orthopedics at White Plains Hospital and an emeritus member of the orthopedics staff at New York Medical College. He also serves as the director of the Westchester Orthopaedics Institute of White Plains Hospital. Small has been on staff at White Plains Hospital since 1983.
As medical and dental staff president, he succeeds Dr. Alfred Roston, a gastroenterologist with the Digestive Disease and Nutrition Center of Westchester, who completed his two-year term at the end of 2014.
