PORT CHESTER, N.Y. -- News of the Blind Brook superintendent's three-day retirement tops the news from Port Chester and Rye Brook this week.

  • Blind Brook School Superintendent William Stark will retire for three days at the end of June. The short retirement allows him to collect a $200,000 pension.
  • The rates at Port Chester parking meters have increased from 75 cents per hour to a dollar per hour. The meter hours of operation will also be extended from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.
  • Metro-North riders could see delays this summer due to scheduled track work in the Bronx. The 7:09 a.m. train from New Canaan on the New Haven Line will make additional stops in Rye and Port Chester, as it will be combined with the 7:35 a.m. train that serves only Port Chester and Rye.
