The 12 students (six from Edison School, six from John F. Kennedy Magnet School) were selected randomly to receive the bicycles, which were assembled by employees of Pfizer as part of a corporate team-building event.

The lucky students were Jennifer Farias, third-grade; Ruben Gudino, fourth-grade; Anyeli Morales, fourth- grade; Ian Orellana, third-grade; Samantha Pena, second-grade; Alexa Perez, second-grade; Michael Pulla, fourth-grade; Jennifer Reyes, fifth-grade; Denys Rivera, fourth-grade; Sean Salazar, fifth-grade; Kimberly Ullaguari, second-grade; and Axel Villed, third-grade.

On Tuesday, March 24, the After School program coordinators brought the 12 students to Pfizer’s facilities at Doral Arrowwood in Rye Brook to see the bikes and meet the employees who built them. Each student followed this visit by writing a thank you note to the Pfizer team.
