PORT CHESTER, N.Y. Thomas Gaetano Bonaro of Port Chester died June 2. He was 94.
Born Nov. 23, 1917, in Italy, he was the son of Francesco and Virginia Lionetti Bonaro. At the age of 10, Bonaro emigrated to the U.S. through Ellis Island. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Bonaro married Grace Tartaglia on July 4, 1941. He was a former resident of Delray Beach, Fla. and Bronx, N.Y.
He is survived by his wife, Grace and twin daughters, Virginia Bonaro and Joanna McEvoy.
Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. on Tuesday at Craft Memorial Home in Port Chester. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Wednesday at Our Lady of Mercy Church in Port Chester. Burial will follow at St. Raymond's Cemetery in the Bronx.
