Port Chester's Stephen Cone Honored Friday

PORT CHESTER, N.Y. – Stephen W. Cone of Port Chester died Jan. 1 after a battle with cancer. He was 64.

Cone was retired from the United Nations after 30 years of service, where he was supervisor of delegates documents, secretariat documents and initial distribution stations. Since 2007, he continued consulting for the U.N. He owned a fishing business in City Island, N.Y. During the Vietnam War, he served as a lieutenant in the Army.

Visiting hours will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. on Thursday at Gunipero Farenga Funeral Home . The family will gather at the funeral home at 10 a.m. on Friday and depart at 10 a.m. for a committal service at Ferncliff Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the North Shore Animal League , 25 Davis Avenue, Port Washington, NY 11050.
