Charlie Scopoletti will co-headline with Duncan Sheik at the Capitol Theatre on June 27 at 7 p.m. to benefit the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

Through his performances, Scopoletti has raised more than $100,000 for charities. His new single, “The Wish” is a tribute to Make-A-Wish.

“My personal mission is to help, inspire, spread hope and make positive change,” said Scopoletti in a press release.

Scopoletti is known for writing inspiring and thought-provoking lyrics about the human condition, according to a press release.

Duncan, who holds two Tony Awards and a Grammy, will co-headline the show at the Capitol. Duncan is known for his single “Barely Breathing” and his work on the Broadway show “Spring Awakening.”

The concert will benefit the Hudson Valley and Connecticut chapters of Make-A-Wish. A portion of ticket sales will benefit the Foundation and its mission to grant wishes for children suffering life-threatening diseases.

The Mayor of Port Chester has provided the cancer-surviving singer with a proclamation that designates March 7 as Charlie Scopoletti Day.

At age 10, Scopoletti was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Disease, a debilitating disease of the lymphatic system. According to his website, Scopoletti discovered his passion for music while being treated at the Memorial Sloan Kettering Hospital in New York City, which provided patients with instruments for recreational therapy. He eventually recovered from Hodgkin’s disease and continued exploring music. In 2006, Scopoletti was diagnosed with Thyroid Cancer and had to cease touring with his band, CSB. He got back to work after getting better and pursued a solo career as a singer and songwriter in 2010.

Scopoletti is currently working on his new EP, “Today is the Day,” with Oscar-winning and Grammy-nominated producer Robert L. Smith. The EP is due for an early June 2014 release.
