Loscri, Ex-Port Chester Schools Worker, Dies at 91

PORT CHESTER, N.Y. – Rocco Loscri of Mohegan Lake, N.Y., formerly of Port Chester, died Saturday, March 24. He was 91.

Loscri was retired from the general maintenance department of the Port Chester-Rye Union Free School District. 

He was born Aug. 3, 1920, in Cittanova, Reggio Calabria, Italy, to Giuseppe and Teresa (Predoti) Loscri. A U.S. Army veteran, Rocco Loscri served during World War II. He enjoyed tending to his garden, as well as making homemade wine, sausages and capicola.

He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Angela Varamo Loscri; his sons, Joseph (Karen) Loscri, Anthony Loscri and Renato (Dawn) Loscri; his daughters, Theresa (Peter) Zerrle and Giselda (Donald) Ryan; his sister Rosa Loscri; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his sisters Concetta and Francesca. 

Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, March 27, at Yorktown  Funeral Home. A funeral service will take place at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 28, at the funeral home. Entombment will follow at Rose Hills Memorial Park in Putnam Valley.
