Joseph "Joe Putt" Pietrafesa, 91, of Port Chester

PORT CHESTER, N.Y. – Joseph John Pietrafesa, known as "Joe Putt," died April 16 at the age of 92. He was a lifelong resident of Port Chester.  

Born July 1, 1919, he was the son of the late Guisippi and Anna Marie Pietrafesa. He joined the U.S. Army and was transferred to the U.S. Air Corps. Pietrafesa graduated as a pilot with Class 44-I from Moore Field, Texas in 1944 and was discharged in 1946. Married to the late Maria Pietrafesa, he was a passionate golfer. 

Pietrafesa is survived by two daughters, Mary Ann (Greg) Loustaunau and Sandra (Rick) Spiegel; six grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, Maria; two brothers, Vincent and Daniel Pietrafesa; four sisters, Katie Carlucci, Lucille Giamella, Mae Pietrafesa and Carmella O'Toole; a niece and a nephew.  

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Thursday at Craft Memorial Home in Port Chester. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Friday at Corpus Christi Church in Port Chester. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery in Greenwich, Conn.
