The Ciaccias' three daughters, Jacqueline, Stefanie and Jessica, all graduated from Holy Child. Sue and Dom have volunteered at the school in various capacities for about 15 years. They said that they were honored that they would be recognized at the Gala, and although they did not want the limelight, they agreed to participate because they knew it was a big event for the school and they wanted to help in any way they could.

"There's such a sense of community at the school. It's lovely," said Sue. She has worked on various committees and held many positions throughout her daughters' time at the school, including serving as a Class Parent Representative,  co-president of the Parent Association and co-chair of the annual Gala event, Homecoming and Memorial Library Luncheon. She said that she's formed strong friendships with other parents through her participation in putting on programs and events.

"You form these relationships where you're all working toward a common cause. I was happy to say yes to the school," she said.

Dom is a current Trustee of the school, and has served on various committees including the building committee, the grounds committee and the executive committee. He was born in Italy and moved to the United States with his parents as a young child. He helped establish an Italian studies program at the Holy Child, which includes the study of the language and culture, as well as trips to Italy.

"The school is very warm, with a lot of families values. It's a different kind of place than your typical parochial Catholic school," Dom said.

Both products of a Catholic school education, the Ciaccias said that they thought it would be a good environment for their children. Because Holy Child is an all-girls school, it allowed their daughters to fill leadership positions in clubs, sports and other activities.

"All of our daughters came out of Holy Child very comfortable and confident and ready to approach their next stage of life," Dom said.

When not volunteering, Dom is the president and CEO of Universal Commodities Tea Trading, one of the largest tea importers in North America. Sue worked in public relations at Iona College before her children were born, and dedicated her time to helping out her kids' school communities. Though their children have graduated, they said that they would like to continue to be involved in the Holy Child community.
