According to Hogue, a client named Ann fell with her shih tzu Oscar in her arms as she was leaving A.I. Friedman. After the ambulance arrived, emergency personnel didn't know what to do about Oscar.

Ann's greatest concern was Oscar, and she asked the Port Chester Police Department to call the chief of the Harrison department. Police Chief Anthony Marraccini sent an officer to pick up Oscar and bring him to the Harrison headquarters. After Ann arrived home from the hospital, an officer reunited her with Oscar.

Hogue also had a similar positive encounter with Harrison police. Once on a freezing January evening at 11 p.m., her car broke down two miles from work. Hogue called the Harrison Police Department and she and her four Yorkies escaped into the patrol car.
