"We hope this project will celebrate the residents of Port Chester while beautifying the community and using clay as a unifying force," said Clay Art Center Executive Director Leigh Taylor Mickelson.
Residents of all ages are invited to decorate, carve, stamp and glaze 6-inch by 6-inch tiles with images of family, home and spring flowers. The tiles will be used in a ceramic mosaic for the Purdy Avenue building for a theme of celebrating unity, family, community and home.
In partnership with the Port Chester Housing Authority, the free workshops will be from 2-4 p.m. May 9, 16, 23, 30 and June 6 at the Traverse Community Room.
