Ex-Port Chester Technician, Masie Dies at 88

PORT CHESTER, N.Y. - Stephen T. Masie, a former Port Chester resident and patent holder, died Oct. 18. He was 88.

A retired electronic technician, he held a US Patent for a tunnel diode tuned amplifier. Masie, most recently of Greenwich, Conn., was born on Jan. 23, 1923 in New York City to the late Philip and Florence Resignito Masie. He graduated from Port Chester High School in 1941 and went on to serve in the US Coast Guard during World War II.

On Jan. 11, 1953, Masie married Marie Pietro at Holy Rosary Church in Port Chester. He is survived by his wife Marie of Greenwich, Conn., his sons Stephen P. Masie with wife Susan of Brentwood, Tenn. and Philip Masie with wife Barbara of Apex, N.C., his daughter Mary Mediate of Cos Cob, Conn. and seven grandchildren. Masie was predeceased by his sister Florence Mappa.

A funeral mass will be held Friday at 10:30 a.m. at Corpus Christi Church in Port Chester, with interment to follow at Greenwood Union Cemetery in Rye. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105. Funeral arrangements by Craft Memorial Home in Port Chester.
