Brian James Lee and Candice Marie Turner of White Plains were both single parents of adopted children when they met on the dating website six years ago, the NYT article says.

Lee was living in Hasbrouck Heights in New Jersey with his adopted daughter, Christina, now 14, who started out as a foster child with the teacher and his then-girlfriend, The Times reports.

Turner adopted her son, Matthew, 17, after offering help to his overwhelmed birth mother when he was a baby.

Lee and Turner welcomed their first child together -- Joey Lee Turner -- in 2012 before moving to a six-bedroom White Plains farmhouse and by 2015, welcomed two more baby boys.

Turner and Lee got married last month in New York City.
