Port Chester Offers Free Parking for Holidays

PORT CHESTER, N.Y. - The village of Port Chester along with the Port Chester-Rye Brook Chamber of Commerce is offering free holiday parking on some major streets in downtown Port Chester through December 28th.

Trustee Joseph Kenner said the free parking is something the village and the chamber offer every year as a holiday gift to the community and visitors alike.

"We waive the parking to encourage shopping in the downtown area," Kenner said. "It's our own little stimulus of sorts".

Free parking, which is still subject to a two hour limit, is available on North and South Main Street, Abendroth Avenue, Westchester Avenue, and lower Willett Avenue. The area includes restaurant row, where diners can dig into food from all points around the globe, from high-end Italian, Brazilian, southern barbecue, Indian, Peruvian and late-night chili cheeseburgers from Hubba Hubba and Texas.
