This workshop was perfect timing because that evening The Capitol was featuring Turn Back The Cap: 1980s w/ Jessie's Girl featuring Jones as special guest.

This workshop drew approximately 100 parents and children said Amy Streim, executive director of The Rock and Roll Playhouse.

The mission of the Playhouse is "Music appeals to people of all ages and today’s families deserve a venue where they can experience and enjoy their favorite music together."

This 45-minute workshop, for children 3-7 years old, had the children dressing up and dancing to classic tunes from 80s. All of the proceeds from the event will be donated to children’s music charity, The Mr. Holland’s Opus Foundation.

Children learned what a cassette tape is, played with instruments, got to dress up in the 80s fads like wearing sunglasses, lace gloves, beads, and bandanas. The workshop started with a parody of Cyndi Lauper's "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun" changed to "Kids Just Wanna Have Fun" and children danced to "You Spin Me Right Round."

Jones taught the children about the format of music and how it is created. He then performed for the children with two of the members of Jessie's Girl who he was going to be performing with in the evening.

Stasha Healy, of Greenwich, Conn., was having just as much fun as her daughters and husband. "My husband and I are big fans of music and we are on the mailing list for The Capitol Theatre. On the way here we played the 80s music for our daughters on cassette tapes, yes we have an old car that allows us to play cassette tapes," said Healy.

Kendall Quick, 7, of Greenwich, Conn., was having a blast. She had her hair in a ponytail on the side, just an 80s hairstyle. "I loved the music, singing, and dancing to the music," said Quick.

Helen Chung of Scarsdale and her son, Will, who is 8 years old enjoyed every part of the 45 minute workshop. "I had a lot of fun, I was singing and dancing. My mom is a big fan of this music and I am too," said Chung. Helen Chung was also going to attend the show in the evening.

Howard Jones performed Nobody Is To Blame, Things Can Only Get better, What is Love and ended with Journey's Don't Stop Believing.
