Boot Camp By the Beach Expands to Rye Brook

RYE BROOK, N.Y. - Are you looking to meet a New Year's weight-loss resolution but are having trouble finding a program that is both fun and challenging? If so, you might want to check out Lee Sandford's Boot Camp by the Beach.

Just in time for the New Year, Boot Camp by the Beach, a rigorous Rye-based fitness program, has opened a new location in Crawford Park in Rye Brook. Boot Camp by the Beach's fitness instructor Julie McGuire spoke about the program's unique ability to be both challenging and enjoyable.

"It's a tough program, but it's geared to be fun," McGuire said standing under the pavilion in Crawford Park. "And as much fun as we have, we also hold each other accountable."

Founder and head trainer Lee Sandford echoed McGuire's statements.

“People find it easy to stick with because we never do the same workout twice and because they really see results – changes in their bodies, mental-health and energy levels," Sanford added.

McGuire also added that a big part of the program is being in "natural surroundings". On Thursday, the natural surroundings included a temperature below 30 degrees.

"It's cold, but you warm up quickly," McGuire added.

McGuire, a former participant of the program, joined after giving birth to her baby, and has since lost 25 pounds in addition to running her first half marathon.

"Boot Camp has been a fantastic life-changing experience for me," McGuire said. "It's a wonderful program that I'm thrilled to be a part of."

Sandford called McGuire a great ambassador for boot camp and is proud to have her leading her new Rye Brook location.

"Julie was the natural choice because she has tremendous energy and is a great Boot Camp success story herself. She has the same passion for changing people’s lives as I do," Sandford said. "Anyone who has been around her lately will testify how excited she is to be bringing Boot Camp to a wider audience”

Boot Camp by the Beach will meet in Crawford Park every Tuesday and Thursday at 9:15 a.m. in addition to its original meetings in Rye Town Park every Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday at the same time.

McGuire confirmed that the Rye Brook program will be offered free of charge for it's first session which ends on February 17th. Anyone who is interested should visit Boot Camp's website at ryebootcampbythebeach.com.
