Monday, Feb. 4

Port Chester Village Board Meeting: 7 p.m. The board meets to discuss various issues concerning Port Chester residents. Port Chester Village Hall, 222 Grace Church St.

Monday Mother Goose: 9:30 a.m., 10:15 a.m. and 11 a.m. Children will wiggle to music, giggle to funny rhymes and pretend to be wild animals in this interactive program. Free. Rye Free Reading Room, 1061 Boston Post Road.

Tuesday, Feb. 5

Teacher in the Library: 3:30 to 5 p.m. Homework help for elementary school students. Free. Rye Free Reading Room, 1061 Boston Post Road, Rye.

Preparing For College: 7 p.m. Geoffrey Stearns, a partner at Educational Futures gives parents and high school students an overview on preparing for applying to colleges during this special presentation. Stearns will discuss trends in college admission, what classes to take in high school, types and timeline of testing and applications, varieties of scholarships and financial aid, and the college interview. There will also be a Q-and-A session. Rye Free Reading Room, 1061 Boston Post Road.

Rye Planning Commission: 7 p.m. Planning projects will be discussed during this monthly meeting. Rye City Hall, 1051 Boston Post Road.
