Westchester Volunteers To Be Honored In Rye Brook Friday

RYE BROOK, N.Y. -- The Volunteer Center of United Way will pay tribute to locals who give back at its annual Volunteer Spirit Awards Benefit on Friday in Rye Brook.

The event will be hosted by Lou Young of CBS-2. Honorees include Marie Rama, Deborah Blatt, Lynn Halpern, Sandy Samberg, Haina Just-Michael, Friends of the Old Croton Aquaduct, Carol Morse, Let's Play It Forward Inc. and Joseph Gusmano.

Each of the award winners was nominated for projects that helped their communities and made their neighborhoods a better place to live.

The awards benefit will be held at the Hilton Westchester, 699 Westchester Ave. Registration begins at 8 a.m. and breakfast and the awards will be held from 8:30 to 10 a.m.
