John Pizzarelli, a nationally-recognized musician who has appeared on late night shows with such names as David Letterman and Jay Leno, celebrates the 100th anniversary of Sinatra with a show beginning at 8 p.m. Tickets for “The Frank Sinatra Celebration with John Pizzarelli” begin at $25.

Pizzarelli will sing many of Sinatra’s classic hits. Sinatra was born Dec. 12, 1915 and died May 14, 1998. He was one of the best-selling music artists of all-time, having sold more than 150 million records worldwide. Some of his classic songs include “My Way,” “New York New York” and “Strangers in the Night.”

Pizzarelli opened for Sinatra on one the legendary musician’s final tours. Pizzarelli said in 2009 he got to meet Sinatra just once, and the brief conversation consisted of just five words from Sinatra: "Eat something, you look bad," he told Pizzarelli.

Pizzarelli has gone on to create a concert program dedicated to Sinatra. He also has an album, Dear Mr. Sinatra, that features music from “The Chairman of the Board.”

“With his eternally boyish tenor and cheery romantic outlook, John Pizzarelli is a stylistic world apart from Frank Sinatra, he of the manly baritone and dark sensual undercurrents. But like his Italian-American forebear, he's a consummate swinger, and he knows how to make a lyric his own,’’ a reviewer wrote about Pizzarelli on Amazon.com.

Sinatra fans wanting to hear his classic performed live can do so with Pizzarelli. The event is just one of many this month at The Palace, one of the region’s top regional arts center. Click here for tickets to Sinatra Celebration. Click here for the complete list of upcoming events at The Palace.
