PORT CHESTER, N.Y. -- The Carver Center in Port Chester will host the third-annual Waine Grose Basketball Tournament Scholarship Fundraiser on May 22.
Grose was a resident of Port Chester and chef who passed away in 2010 at 24. His mother, Janet, started a scholarship to keep his memory alive, and every year awards money to a Port Chester High School graduate who wants to pursue culinary arts in college.
The basketball tournament will raise funds that will go to this year's qualifying student. The tournament will be held in the Carver Center's gym from 6 to 9 p.m. The cost of admission is $3 for children and $5 for adults.
