Port Chester voters can learn about the voting process during four education forums the week of March 4.
The city is offering one session for Spanish speakers on Tuesday March 5 at 6:30 p.m. in Port Chester High School, 1 Tamarack Road. English speakers can attend a session at 8 p.m. at the same location that night.
Mayor Dennis Pilla, running on the Citizens for Better Government (CBG), is being challenged by Neil Pagano, a candidate on the Republican, Conservative and Independent party lines, for the two-year mayoral term.
Ten candidates are running for six, three-year positions on the village board.
The race includes incumbents Daniel Brakewood (D,CBG), Joseph Kenner (R), Saverio Terenzi (R,C,I), Luis Marino (D,CBG) and Bart Didden (C,I). John Branca is not seeking re-election.
New candidates include Gregory Adams (D,CBG), Gene Ceccarelli (Pride of Port Chester), John Reavis (Coalition Party), Ricardo Dos Anjos (C) and Francis Ferrara (R), who serves on the Industrial Development Agency.
Voters unable to attend Tuesday’s sessions can attend forums on Saturday at Port Chester’s King Street School, 697 King Street.
The English education forum will be held at 1:30 p.m., and the Spanish education forum at 3:30 p.m.
Port Chester residents can vote early from March 12 to 16 in the village conference room.
