Port Chester Groups Host Community Discussion On Poverty

PORT CHESTER, N.Y. -- The Port Chester Latino Network is teaming up with the Carver Center for a forum called "Poverty: 50 Years Later" to discuss the causes and solutions to impoverishment in the community.

Join your neighbors to learn how the federal "War on Poverty" launched by President Lyndon Johnson is still being waged and come up with policies that would improve the lives of the poor in Westchester County.

The forum is scheduled for Friday, Jan. 24, at 6 p.m., in St. Peter's Church, 19 Smith St. in Port Chester.

Interpretation will be provided, and child care is available upon request.
