Senior Luis Gonzalez was selected as the first-team first baseman, while slugging sophomore Cristian Florito was named to the second team as the designated hitter.

This is the first NCBWA All-East Region selection for both players.

Gonzalez – who was recently named the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Player of the Year – was also named to the All-CACC first team as the league’s top first baseman. This is the third All-CACC selection for him.

The first baseman had the conference’s second highest batting average (.369) and on-base percentage (.487), while recording the second most doubles (18) and total bases (87). He had the third highest slugging percentage (.554) and his three homeruns were good for third in the conference.

Florito was also named to the All-CACC first team. He led the conference with nine long balls and a .611 slugging percentage. He finished the season with 34 RBIs and 77 total bases. Florito was named the CACC Player of the Week in April and is ranked second in the entire East region in home runs.
