At the Saturday, the Grand Marshal will be Justice Andrew McDonald, a former state senator and longtime Stamford resident.
McDonald's maternal great-grandfather hailed from County Wexford and settled in upstate New York in the 1840s, where some of the stone barns he and his brothers constructed still stand today, according to his biography on the Stamford St. Patrick’s Day website.
His maternal great-grandmother immigrated to the U.S. from County Cork.
The parade kicks off at noon at the intersection of Summer Street and North Street. It turns left on to Main Street and then on to Atlantic Street before coming to an end near the intersection of Bedford Street and North Street.
