Golf Digest Leaves Wilton, Abandons Office's Famous Putting Green

WILTON, Conn. -- There will be no more putting in Wilton, at least for the folks who worked -- and played -- at Golf Digest. The Conde Nast magazine has moved to the Big Apple, according to the magazine itself.

The putting green at the offices of Golf Digest was known as the "Royal Wilton."

The "Royal Wilton," as the office green was called, was the focal point of friendly competition for the 12 years the magazine was headquartered at the Wilton Woods Corporate Campus on Westport Road, the Golf Digest said.

Golf Digest packed up and moved to its new digs at 1 World Trade Center in lower Manhattan in December, Golf Digest reported.

But the green was left behind, perhaps offering the next occupants of the Wilton space a way to blow off some steam, according to Golf Digest.
