WESTPORT, Conn. — A 19-year-old Bridgeport woman was charged with drunk driving in Westport Saturday after she was spotted driving at a high rate of speed along Greens Farms Road, police said.
In following the driver, later identified as Jessica Gallo, the officer saw her swerve in and out of her lane several times, the police report said. When Gallo was stopped, the officer smelled alcohol on her breath, police said.
Gallo failed field sobriety tests and was taken into custody, police said. The results of her breath tests were 0.152 and 0.137. The legal blood-alcohol content limit is 0.08.
Gallo was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, a misdemeanor, and failure to drive in the proper lane. She was released after posting a $500 bond and is scheduled to appear at Norwalk Superior Court on May 28.
