Greenwich Hospital To Host Educational Forums, Programs Throughout May

GREENWICH, Conn. -- Greenwich Hospital is hosting a variety of upcoming programs that are available to all.

A schedule of programs is below.

Friday, May 2 :

The Nurse Is In: A nurse is on site to take blood pressure readings and answer your health questions from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. at the YMCA in Greenwich. For information, call 203-863-4444.

Understanding Spine Disorders: New technologies and treatments are helping patients recover from painful conditions of the spine. Join orthopedic surgeon Paul Apostolides, MD, from 9:30–10:30 a.m. at the YMCA of Greenwich, 50 E. Putnam Ave., as he discusses causes and prevention of neck pain, disk problems, spinal stenosis, compression fractures and spinal instability. To register, call the YMCA at 203-869-1630, ext. 500.

Monday, May 5: Prostate Cancer Education Forum: Treatment Approaches for Advanced Prostate Cancer. Join medical oncologist Daniel Petrylak, MD, from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at Greenwich Hospital’s Noble Conference Center to learn more about some of the new protocols that have received FDA approval. Monday, May 5, 12, 19: The Nurse Is In:  9 to 11 a.m. at the Rye YMCA and from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Greenwich Library Health Information Center.

Encore at the YWCA: This YWCA program for women who have had breast cancer surgery includes group discussions to identify and share common concerns, as well as floor and swimming exercises. Join them at 12:30 p.m. at the YWCA of Greenwich, 259 East Putnam Avenue. For more information, call 203-869-6501, ext. 131.
