Greenwich Hospital Hosts Support Groups, Programs For Community

GREENWICH, Conn. --  Support groups and CPR training are among some of the upcoming programs that Greenwich Hospital will host throughout May.

A schedule of events is below.

The Nurse Is In: A nurse will be on site to take blood pressure readings and answer your health questions from 9 to 11 a.m. in the first floor conference room at 55 Holly Hill Lane. For more information, call 203-863-4444. Held on Thursdays, May 8, 15, 22, 29.

General Loss Bereavement Group: This eight-week program offers comfort and coping strategies to anyone grieving the loss of a loved one. Join others in an atmosphere of support to learn about the symptoms of grief, what is “normal,” and how to move forward. Sessions held Thursdays through June 12, from 4 to 5:30 p.m. Preregistration is required. To register, call 203-863-3892.

Family Caregiver Support Group: This group provides support for adults who care for family members with Alzheimer’s disease or other types of dementia. The group meets on Thursday, May 15, from 1 to 2:15 p.m. at Greenwich Hospital’s Center for Healthy Aging. Group size limited to 10 members. Call 203-863-4375 to preregister.

CPR Friends and Family (Infant/Child): This two-hour course meets from 6 to 8 p.m. in the first floor conference room at 900 King St., Rye Brook, N.Y., and covers obstructed airways. Suggested for parents and caregivers. This single-session program is designed for lay rescuers only and meets American Heart Association standards.
