Master Songwriter Gordon Lightfoot Serenades At Ridgefield Playhouse

RIDGEFIELD, Conn. -- Gordon Lightfoot, who emerged from the Toronto club scene in the 1960s and went on to become an international folk-rock legend, will perform at The Ridgefield Playhouse at 8 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 11.

The Canadian singer-songwriter, known for “If You Could Read My Mind,” “Sundown,” and “The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald,” has released 20 albums.

Bob Dylan, who is also one of the most influential artists of the last five decades, is a huge fan.

Said Dylan of Lightfoot’s music: “Every time I hear a song of his, it’s like I wish it would last forever.”

Besides Dylan, Lightfoot as also composed hits for artists ranging from Elvis Presley, to Barbra Streisand and Harry Belafonte.
