Leslie is a graduate of Ardsley High School. She received her bachelor's degree in English from American International College. She worked at PepsiCo for 15 years before working as a substitute teacher, tutor and teacher's aide,. She specializes in working with children with developmental disabilities. She was active in the Port Chester schools where her son played high school football. She also is a past member of her residential cooperative's board of directors.
