County Executive Rob Astorino, along with White Plains Mayor Tom Roach joined restaurant owners Peter Lombardo and Juan Cespedes on Thursday, Jan. 5 at the official opening of their new fast casual eatery, Pizzeria Veloce.

The new business, at 19 Court Street, prides itself on making artisanal pizzas, and hand crushing its own imported “San Marzano” tomatoes in a specially designed 800-inch rotating oven. The eatery makes its own dough, cheese and sauce and prepares its own produce in house using the finest, most healthful ingredients.

For those who want something different, there is also the option to create your own pie. According to the website: there is never a right or wrong combination.

There are also plenty of chef-designed salads, soups, tap wines and beers. Orders are placed cafeteria-style, and customers can watch their meal being prepared from beginning to end.

Pizzeria Veloce is at 19 Court St., (914) 449-4444; www.pizzeriaveloce.com/.
